People are speaking highly of the book, one friend said it would make a great sitcom!Ron Wadey – author of My Mother’s Luck
Among the feedback Ron received about his memoir was ‘This would make a great sitcom!’ True, I can imagine plenty of capacity for TV comedy gold in scenes where he inadvertently gets high on a hangover cure, or is seen skulking about a hotel in the early morning wearing only a cash-filled jacket and underpants.
As you might imagine, Ron is a great storyteller and raconteur, and has lived his life to the full. When he asked me to ghostwrite his book, I knew we’d have lots of tall tales and near-the-knuckle anecdotes to include, but I wanted to make sure his book told a linear story too. While we stayed true to the mission to focus, first and foremost, on his bookmaking career, Ron’s book is still shot through with moments of heart and pathos.
And just to lay any ugly rumours about greedy bookmakers to bed, we also agreed that Ron would share a minimum 20% of the net profits from his book with Marie Curie. Just for once, everybody wins!
